Pete worked in a GP surgery as a healthcare assistant/phlebotomist before undertaking his nurse training. Qualifying as an adult nurse in 2012 he relocated to North Devon and worked on a Trauma and Orthopaedics ward for several years at North Devon District Hospital. Pete remained in North Devon as he changed specialities to work within intensive care nursing. On returning to Birmingham, he worked in the Critical Care Department at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, before moving to Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust as a Practice Facilitator and progressing to Lead Education Nurse for the Trust.
While working at Sandwell and West Birmingham, Pete supported students who were out on placement, developed skills and simulation teaching sessions for both students and registered staff, as well as developing the Trust’s preceptorship programme.
Pete then moved into lecturing, joining the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ of Worcester in 2022, where he is also currently studying for his MA in Education.
Pete has an interest in anatomy and physiology as well as teaching practical skills and running simulations. He finds supporting students in achieving their goals both academically and in practice very rewarding.
